I share with the world
What parts of me do I share with the world?
Searching for my roots
But I won’t water myself down
Might be unusual to some
I tell the truth about where I’m from, from
In my tongue
You’ve got so many worlds all a part of you
Don’t be ashamed ancestors watch over you
All over the world
You are not alone
It’s okay if you’re afraid to grow, hey
It’s okay if you’re afraid to glow
Hafu Child
You’re more beautiful than you know
There’s no time limit just take it slow
Knowing who you are will make you whole
Don’t let anybody tell you no
Might be unusual to some
I tell the truth about where I’m from
In multiple tongues
Anata wa kanzen nani mo kaketeinai yo
Tu eres mas chevere porque te aceptas en tu totalidad
Growing up I was the only one ,tried so hard to fit in
Categories not meant for me
So take up space, don’t be shy it’s our turn now
A different beautiful than you know
There’s no time limit just take it slow
Of the ocean I’m untouchable
But I won’t water myself down, down
(improv)
Diaspora child your struggle is so real
Monologue:
It is kinda funny that we are referred to as "hafu"
Or half, when we are not really half of anything
If anything we are double, triple, quadruple
But I do like claiming this word back to say
You might only acknowledge part of me
But if you do that you are missing out on all of me
And that's your loss
Not mine
